Geese in flight

Geese in flight

01.22.2017

I went in search of the eagles again today but all I saw were geese. It was good practice for when I do actually see eagles again though. I do need to get better. This new lens is performing great but I need to work on my focus and settings. Ugh.

But anyway, at least I got this one and it turned out halfway decent.

I’ve got a tough week coming up at work and home. There’s a lot of work and a lot of studying this week. Sometimes, like these geese, I really just want to fly away. But, that’s not a viable option. I must stay and tackle everything.

I wish all of you a great week! Hang in there, spring is just around the corner.

Cold but beautiful

Winter at McConnells Mill

01.25.2017

I couldn’t sleep last night. Nothing was wrong. I just couldn’t fall asleep. Eventually I got maybe 4 hours before getting up and taking the dogs for a walk. It was a cool morning, in the mid-20s, but no wind so calm and kind of beautiful.

I decided I needed to be out in natureĀ . . . it helps to get myself righted. I headed to the mill and was awe struck by the massive amount of water flowing over the dam. But along the water was this branch with ice crystals hanging down. It looked beautiful but menacing! And, cool at the same time!

No words of wisdom today. I just wanted to share the photo with you. Have a wonderful week!

The nose knows

The nose knows

01.04.2017

Every day when I get home from work, my dog sniffs my clothes. It’s almostĀ like he needs to know where I’ve been and how my day went. He sniffs all over while I attached his collar and leash for his walk. Then he looks up like he understands that I was at work and came back home to him. His nose knows!

When your loved ones come home from being away for a few minutes or hours, go to them and ask how was their day. A hug is always good too. Just saying.

Rainy day

Rainy day

01.03.2017

It’s been raining for the past two days. However, I’m thankful. Why? Because it’s not snowing! But I guess the snow is coming back tomorrow. I miss the sun. I hope it comes back soon.

The above photo was taken at the farm yesterday. I added a rainy texture. I don’t normally play with filters but this somehow seemed appropriate.

Keep your chin up, the sun is up there somewhere.

Be fearless this year!

Fearless

01.01.2017

Happy New Year! A new year always brings hope of better things to come. Most people make resolutions or plans to change. I plan to travel more and take photos every chance I get.

The photo above is of a ring I wear. I want to be more fearless – take more risks, not be so cautious about everything, and just live life my way. I encourage all of you to do the same. Don’t be afraid to live, to do new things. No more “someday” I’ll do that. Plan to do it this year!

Have fun. Do good.
