Lamb checking us out

07.13.2017

Last week on vacation we took an afternoon and just drove around Wyoming & a little into Montana. We drove past this one spot and just happen to spot a ewe. We thought she was going to come right up to the truck while I photographed her from the truck window. Then all of a sudden her lamb comes up the hill beside her. So very cute! Love that heart shaped nose! Soon they scurried across the road behind us. This is one of my favorite shots!

Keep your eyes open – always look around for the best things in nature.

A surprise at Mammoth Hot Springs – Yellowstone

Young bull elk

07.12.2017

I very much enjoyed my visit at Yellowstone National Park. It’s a place everyone should have on their bucket list. I captured this young bull elk at Mammoth Hot Springs. He was just laying there, looking at all of us, and occasionally scratching an itch. lol

I’m working through all the photos. I took quite a few! It was certainly a great adventure spending the day at Yellowstone. Make plans to visit soon!

I was determined!

Momma Bear

Bear Cub

07.04.2017

Happy 4th of July! What a great nation we live in!

My adventure today took me to Yellowstone National Park. This morning before even we left I knew I would see a bear today. The entire time in the park I was looking for a bear.

I didn’t tell anyone I was with that I was going to see a bear on this trip to the park (I didn’t want to jinx myself). But I believed totally it would happen for me . . . . and it did. And, not only did I see one grizzly bear but I also got to see her cub (last year’s cub). How exciting!! It makes me think how much more could I accomplish in life if I woke up every morning determined to see or get what I want! That’s pretty powerful right there.

(I took many photos and will share more soon!)

Excited!

Ready to eat

05.16.2017

I took this photo a while ago but lately I’ve been going through some of my memory cards and cleaning things up a bit. I found this gem, added my new logo (do you like it?), cropped the edges, and there we have it! I’m usually not good with a fast shutter. I try hard with wildlife but most of the time I end up missing the shot or it’s blurry or whatever. This one worked! Of course I had a good model.

I love how excited he is to eat his treat. He always plays with his food and makes it seem as though it’s the first time he’s tried it. He’s also always excited to see me – when I get home from work, when I pick him up from a weekend away, when I get back from a run (he’s too old to run with me anymore). That’s how we should greet all loved ones – be excited to se them.

Thanks for your input on the blue herons – yep, there are 5. That was fun and I enjoyed that photo shoot. I have another shoot this weekend of a waterfall I’ve never photographed before so stay tuned!

Whale tail!

Whale tail

Close up of humpback whale

04.11.2017

I don’t know why but it’s exciting to photograph and see a whale’s tail. It’s fun to see them breach the water and then see their tail completely out of the water. It’s almost like they’re giving you a high five or saying bye.

It’s also cool to see them so close in the ocean. I don’t advocate pulling a boat up next to them; a good lens is what you need here. And I just happen to have one (thank you best boyfriend ever!). I captured the second photo here just as it was coming up out of the water. I’m not sure what all those bumps are but WOW, way cool!

Today my boss asked me if I would go back to Cabo. I thought about it for just a moment and replied “no.” It’s a big world out there with many more places to see! I challenge all of you to plan a trip this year to somewhere you’ve never been before. Whether it’s a place nearby or across the world – plan for it and then go!
