I took several photos of the leaves and frozen water droplets just outside the kitchen door on Sunday morning. I like that this one shows the fence gate and part of the tree limb that protrudes from the trunk.
It’s really just an ordinary scene but for some reason it makes me smile and relaxes me when I look out the window. I think everyone should have a happy place to look out and smile.
So the sun came out today and it made me very happy! However, it disappeared behind some clouds when I got out at lunchtime to take some photos at the dock. But that’s okay. It was still great to see the sun most of the day. Where I work I travel between buildings and even though the wind was cold, I still took a little time to soak it in!
I’m hoping the sun will come back out again tomorrow! It certainly helps to lift my spirit.
If I don’t post again before Christmas, I wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas! Enjoy your family and friends and remember, it’s not what’s under the tree but who’s around your tree.
I spotted this nest today way up high on a tree limb while walking my dog. I had not seen it before today, even though we walk that way often. It’s amazing what’s hidden in nature right in front of us! I just loved how the autumn leaves were bright against the grayness of the nest. I’m not sure what kind of nest – some bee, but it sure was a treat to see it.
After our walk, I couldn’t wait to get the camera and head back to the tree. What a fun sighting in nature to photograph! Look up and keep an eye out – this time of year is so beautiful! I hope to post more findings soon. I’m traveling again this weekend . . . . . .
I’ve been going back through my photos, keeping some, deleting most. This is one I came across that I really liked. I took it at Frontier Park in Erie, PA. I often go here during my lunch hour to get away from work for a while.
I am a person who likes to plan. When training for a race I always planned out the route ahead of time, knowing exactly where I want to go and how long it should take me to get there. But, when I walk here, there is no plan. No route. No finish line. I meander. This is very unlike me. However, I must say, I enjoy it now. I like the freedom to walk whatever path I feel like, here, there, or across the way. And then, when I get back to my truck, I am calm, relaxed, and ready to continue my day.
This is something I’ve learned the past year or so. It’s okay not to have everything planned out. It’s okay to just follow a path to see where it goes without knowing where it may lead. Take a risk. Step out. Live.
Today was a long day with my beau. However, I did get an idea of what his days are like. I didn’t want to sit at the house so I joined him in the truck while he fixed furnaces on emergency service calls. They kept coming today!
I always have my camera with me because I never know when a great photo will present itself. We were at this one house and I saw this snow covered tree in front of the truck. I put the window down, leaned out, and captured the above photo.
My camera has filters built in so I added the blue tint to take the photo (rather than a black & white). Then after I had the photo, I added the fisheye filter. It gave the photo that awesome effect. I enjoyed seeing the final result. You can really tell at the bottom of the filter because the snow is not a flat line but rounded.
